And last night, when I was gazing out past Jove
I saw a most peculiar little star
With a most peculiar little planet
With a most peculiar little race of alien life
That used a most peculiar form of currency
It was my head, of course
They used my head for currency
And if it is valuable enough for them
It is valuable enough for me.

We'll show them all who's crazy.
Pickled lamp haiku.
"Oh, come on... be reasonable. You can't destroy everything; where would you sit?"

Once the haikus have started
Madness reigns supreme

With haiku, you cannot oppress me.
"Oh, come on... be reasonable. You can't destroy everything; where would you sit?"

brought on by haiku's sick aggression
so now we move on
now that haiku's gone
it's time for a limerick session

Make me sick.

Time passed slowly
Heart held heavy
Silence echoed
Hope faltered
Eyes closed
Sun faded
Night called, invaded, and whispered
"Let go"

Entwining lyrical melodies
Of words and syllables,
Beautiful sounds with rhymes
And the cadence of a song,
Until finally he sat straight and said,
"Phlox. Nothing rhymes with orange."

That's probably the best poem we've had in this thread. But that's not saying much considering your competition.
"Oh, come on... be reasonable. You can't destroy everything; where would you sit?"

The deepest of all pain
Pierces my body, my mind, my soul.
My hands, young and trusting
Reached out for yours
Only to be slashed at the wrists
By an unsuspected axe
Its edge glsitening
Though incased in the thinckness
Of human flesh and blood.
From deep within
An unsupressable desperate scream
Shreads the silence of the universe;
The thundering sound echoes
Throughout every galaxie,
Until each molecule separates itself from the others
And rests light years away from its origin.
Here
Silence
Reigns.
And the pain remains in the memory
Of a chance once taken,
A gamble lost,
A heart broken.
No tears.
No words.
No thoughts.
Just the emptiness
Of silent
Pain.
The bend in the road is not the end of the road unless you fail to make the turn. Mac Anderson

Sticks and stones may break my bones
And words may never hurt me,
But it is possible,
For one wretched second,
To hear another's words and think
With seething envy and all the eloquence of an imbecile,
"I wish I'd said that."
"Oh, come on... be reasonable. You can't destroy everything; where would you sit?"

and wandered into this here thread
'tis fine, thought I, for idle folk
to create japes and jingles in their heads
But its past midnight, thats no joke
so I'm off to climb into me bed

One dark night last week,
Went to the cellar with a match
In search of a gas leak,
(He found it)
A Maine man read that human eyes
Of hypnotism were full;
He went to see if it would work
Upon an angry bull
(It wouldn't)
