War Intensifies Along the Telsong Front
St'los - Vulcan Information Directorate
28 April, 2157

The last few weeks have seen some of the most intense fighting since the beginning of the conflict between the Romulans and Coalition of Planets.

Over much of the past two weeks, battles--ranging in size from small skirmishes to large-scale conflicts between multiple ships--have been fought between CoP and Romulan forces in and around the Telsong Nebula at the edge of Andorian territory on a nearly hourly basis.

Following the destruction of an important Romulan station within the area, the enemy launched a massive counterattack, and the fighting has continued, almost without pause, ever since. Numerous ships from both sides have been lost or damaged, and the reports leaking from the front describe fields of wreckage strewn across kilometers of space.

The chaotic nature of the fighting has led to conflicting reports on the numbers of ships and crewmembers lost. The most conservative estimates put the number of CoP dead at just a few hundred, while others put it in the thousands.

Here on Vulcan, news of the fighting has had little impact on the lives of citizens, but it has greatly impacted the emotional states of other Coalition worlds. On Earth and its colonies, humans have held memorials and candle-lit vigils and made public declarations of support for the fighters. Even many of the anti-war activists have offered their support for those on the front lines.

Meanwhile, on Coridan Prime, the government held a moment of silence to show respect for those lost in the battle, and on Denobula, President Larsha gave a speech in front of the ruined offices of her planet's government, saying "We will survive this time of trial, as we have all the past ones. The loss of Salem One did not break us, the ruthless attack upon our capitol did not break us, and this will not break us."

The Tellarite government has attempted to reassure its people with frequent, albeit vague, press conferences and releases. Conversely, the governments on Earth and Andoria have again stemmed the tide of information to the public, prompting fresh criticisms from anti-war activists and opposition parties.

As of this writing, the fighting along the Telsong front continues unabated. The VID will bring you any and all updates as soon as we receive them.
