Sales of the complete Season 1-4 set are slowly climbing their chart. If you look up Star Trek, filter to the bestselling among the other franchise entries, it's actually sitting at the 8th most popular DVD Trek. A week ago, it was outside the top ten.

That's great news. Network execs pay more attention to sales numbers than to anything else.

Looking at most of the reviews, some are pretty against ENT but tend to date back to when the show seen for the first time. So it's good to throw in my contrary opinion, now the dust has settled. I recommend others do the same, especially with newbies coming to Star Trek for the first time. It would be nice to think, for every vocal hater of this show, there were others who felt differently.

I just read your review and voted "Yes" for it. I'll vote "Yes" for any other positive review there.

Absolutely!

I forgot to congratulate you on your second NX Initiative video, it is pretty nicely done and i like the backdrop you used too
21 views for my video, not a bad haul so far although hopefully with our sites all linked up video wise like NX Initiative videos on Enterprise News Today and vice versa plus throw in the linkup between Enterprise fans on Youtube things will be getting better for us as we reach the fan, hopefully our videos all reach three and four figures then five figures and so on and so forth

You know the most exciting thing? we're back in the business of refining ideas something we haven't done here in a while

That's the idea: not to put everything together, but to let everyone do their own stuff and keep in touch with each other, linking sites.
A few years back, in the Save Enterprise / Trek United times, it was the right thing to do to join forces in one place; but nowadays things have changed and even a Twitter campaign can make a difference. The point is to keep all the sites linked: YouTube channels, Facebook groups, blogs, Twitter profiles, anything.

That's right, and it feels great. We can actually reach goals by spreading the word about Enterprise, the way we are doing right now.

Twitter would be an interesting thing to use, what are the early indications on that in terms of people signed up to receive messages etc?

I have been alerted to a new method of fan production concerning Enterprise, apparently this production method combines several audio and visual elements to make episodes more details as they come to hand

I'm no heavy Twitter user, but the key seems to be the people that are following you and the people you're following; this "follow" thing is a little bit like the "friends" on Facebook. Whoever signs up, has to follow you to get your updates (the messages you post).

End of disclaimer.

One thing I've learned over the last year or so since I've returned to the Star Trek franchise is that trying to organize Star Trek fans is harder than trying to herd cats. Having said that, it wouldn't be a bad idea if the various smaller campaigns can put aside differences and unify into one large campaign. As I look around here and elsewhere, what I see is the potential for a strong global campaign to unify fans from around the world. I see interest and talent from the US, Australia, the UK, Various European countries and South America. Think about the potential if we truly organized towards the common goal and made recruitment efforts rather than just to discuss things and then go on our own way. Something to think about.

I know most of you folks have been through this before and are probably rolling your eyes at me, but from what I see, the interest in Enterprise has not died. In fact, it's gaing many new fans every day. At StarTrek.com the bashing of Enterprise is almost gone and the fans of the series are dominating the Enterprise board. I think now would be a good time to come together.

That would be up for discussion but it could be either one of the existing sites / banners or we create an entirely new one.

In my humble opinion, it should be a new site / banner agreed to by all of the "organizers" collectively. If not a new one, I think one of the newer sites / banners should be the survivor. I have no tie to any one site but a "fresh start" should be the focus; a new face for both old and new fans. However all of the major Enterprise sites need to be on board and agree to give up their effort (like Save Enterprise did) and direct everyone to the new campaign. If all the major players aren't on board, then it most likely wont work. Once again, this is just my opinion. You guys (and gals) have been through this all before.

I think a new organisation would get the nod over one group being the spearhead, i definitely know it wouldn't be Save Enterprise too many bitter memories for some people

I agree with your statement, however there were/are many good people associated with "Save Enterprise" and they would be valuable participants to a new cause. If there is a new group, it would have to be very inclusive and the members would need to be flexible and tolerant.

I know for a fact that Jolene Blalock Twitters. Would be interesting if we could get her to follow "the cause"

Passionately disagree. I have no bitter memories associated with Save Enterprise. Most "fans" that do are likely to be in the camp that just plain wanted ENT dead, unable to grasp how anybody would care enough to not want it cancelled.

If you want to rally under some new banner, I've no objections about others going their own way. But I think you'll be throwing away something valuable that Executives don't have to think too far back to recall. Hell, they've been seeing the SE phoenix logo on practically every mailshot I've sent for many, many years...

Thanks Aussie Trekkie, can't believe I missed it. I have added a reply to it to see if we can get Tom's approval. In the meantime I created a video yesterday, even put music to.... It's a sort of a 'teaser' trailer. I have no idea how to link it to here to see what you think??? :helpsmilie:

And I'm so glad to see this forum really active, even though you all have me a little lost as to what you're discussing

Well, I'm off to do some work, catch all later, have great day/night..

Hi Paulinem. Consider uploading to either Youtube (for everyone to watch)

http://www.youtube.com/

or perhaps Rapidshare, if you want others to have a copy?

Here's my review over at IMDb...

Please vote, at the bottom of the page where it says... "Was the above comment useful to you?"

It may end up being featured on the entry page for Enterprise, the more votes it gets.

Excellent review.

was just saying that if all groups had to come together they wouldn't here because they formed themselves to get away from Save Enterprise/Trekunited control for certain reasons on the other hand everyone pretty much does work together but just under different banners it's just SE has a forum, the rest do not.

It would be nice to fly one flag but how does one incorporate all the different styles and who would oversee things that all could agree to, then we have to get SE out of archives and something more visible and so on

I have never been happy with the closure of Save Enterprise. Making it into an archive. I had absolutely nothing to do with that decision. How did leaving it open harm this forum? It was probably closed because of this perceived view, the movement needs a figure head or a member in charge of it. That frankly is nonsense. If somebody comes with a campaign idea and that thread stays on top, receiving an influx of support and regular posts, then it's a success by consensus.

It beats me who closed it and why. I certainly never had that power. Nor was I ever in charge. I'm sick of clashing egos and prefer to concentrate on writing letters, pressing DVDs or posting cards to any Executive's address that comes my way. Things I pretty much assumed everybody else would be doing.

While we're at this.... As far as I'm aware, nobody has ownership of Save Enterprise. Tom here at TU is always going on that we should set up our website, under that name... or as a dot net or dot org. I've been fighting to get the dot com back. But seem to have lost that battle, due to nobody telling me that the domain had slipped. I don't know much about web design and have made steps to look into doing something, but nothing ever happens fast enough. Also the team effort never seems to be there, and never has actually... usually with one member having a bright idea and also required to get on with themselves, or so is my own experience.

I like the Save Enterprise name. I like the banner and the symbolism that goes with it. Joanna Poe designed that based on a sketch I gave her way back when. It means a lot to me, I guess. What can be achieved by inventing a new name and organisation from scratch? There is really is no doubt what SE stands for. Frankly it's speaks for itself and those vocal against it, probably hate it what it stands for anyway... the programme Enterprise, which they don't want back under any circumstances, so they will obviously shoot it down.

Invent a new movement and it will face the same problems. "Save" isn't one of them. But for some fans, "Enterprise" definately is.

This time next year, we'll still be stuck right here and it's no one fan's fault. Most seem happy to be spoon fed an Alternate to Star Trek. The hype and blind loyalty JJ Abrams' new universe inspired has certainly been impressive and fans have voted with their wallets. I'm not satisified with the status quo but so far the only vocal minority that worked, deprived me of my favourite show. Something like that has no chance of success against the sure fire box office hit of 2009. Money is all that matters. Old fans can always be replaced and needn't be listened to.

Chris,
