I hope that the new people actually give refunds to those of us who had tickets for "postponed" (ie. canceled) shows. I feel bad for the previous runners of Vulkon, but the fact that they essentially went quiet and gave no information do people was rather unprofessional, IMO.

Of course, that notice says check back within a week and it's been up for over 2 already.... hopefully just a delay and not more hollow promises.

Hopefully this ends up being good news.

Hi,
re Vulkon Conventions..I used to go to these but, haven't been in a few years. Who has been running them? The original Vulkon Conventions were run by Joe Motes. He ran them for years. Has a new company been running them? Who did you pay the money to? I always paid Joe and never had a problem. He ran really good conventions.

Hi, I heard from Joe Motes..

Angie, there is a possibility that Fernando and I will start again but under a different name. I'll keep you posted.

If I hear any more about anyone or Joe starting up a new convention I will be sure to let you know. So nothing new in the near future is what I got out of his note.

According to Wikipedia Joe Motes as offically bought back Vulkon from the Tripps. They were nice people, but it was a complete disaster with those two that I stopped going. I much prefer Joe Motes conventions. I am anxiously waiting for the Vulon website to come back up. I can't wait to get to another convention as they are so much fun. The one thing that Joe Motes is going to have to do is lower prices or people won't be able to afford the conventions.

I'm excited about the future of Vulkon with it in the hands of Joe Motes!!

I'm from the Port Charlotte area but just retired from a group out of Naples, tired of driving so far for meetings.
Been goin to Joes cons sine 1995 (or sooner) stopped going after the Tripps took over, their pricing was too high, the stars kept cancelling and NO refunds, and I didn't like the packages, I'd much rather buy a ticket in advance and the later purchase the extras like the dinner, photos, etc. I also was angry on how they handled the dinner, use to be one star per table and only tables with stars were sold. Also we could pose and get photos with them but then greed set in and they sold so many tables that only the elite people who bought the highest priced tickets could sit by the stars, and even tho we paid the same price for dinner we didn't get near a star. Also no more photos cuz they charged mucho bucks to have a professional photo done and they didn't want us to get "freebees".

If things go back to earlier times I might start going again
