Well I'll be the first to say that I was disappointed in this movie. Not because of Harrison Ford or anything like that...but it was like Episode I: "updated" (read "dumbed down") for modern audiences. And like some others have mentioned, it was a little to X-Files caliber Sci-Fi for my tastes (Nothing wrong with X-Files, just not in this setting). And there wasn't enough archeological tie-in like there had been in the others.

[color=#ff0011;background:#ff0011]Was anyone else bothered by the Shia Le Boef scene where he was pulling a "Tarzan" and swinging with the monkeys? And WHY did we have to have the nuclear test town scene? What POSSIBLE purpose did that serve other than to have a big explosion scene??[/color]

I'll give it a B rating and tell you it IS worth seeing, but I still think Raiders and Last Crusade were better.

That one was just standard Spielburg action/suspense scene. If you watch what he does, he rolls in something action-packed or suspenseful, eases off, then something even more action-packed or suspenseful, then eases off, and does that for however long the action scene takes, but there's always one bit right after the action scene that's an unexpected extra bit of action or suspense. It's just his style.

I agree. I thought it was perfectly okay, but not better than Raiders or Last Crusade.

Ah, Indy. Was good to have him back, wasn't it?

Sure, there was a lot wrong about the movie. The script was awful in places, the whole thing was a mess in terms of structure and pacing, Karen Allen really wasn't very good and the climax didn't really make much sense, did it?

However... Harrison didn't miss a step (When I'm 64, I wanna look like him!), Shia LeBeouf is a good actor and played his part well, some of the chase sequences were fun and... ya know, it's Indy. He could be tromping round a dingy South London council estate and I'd still watch him.

No Raiders, no Last Crusade, but... certainly be in my DVD collection come Christmas.

MZP: Fiction never tasted so good!

Indiana Jones is my all time favorite. I've grown up with those movies and still loving them as before. The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull surprised me very much in a positive way. It looks like it was made five years after The Last Crusade! I loved the whole atmosphere, it's was the same as in the trilogy. Along with Iron Man and The Dark Knight, it's the best movie of 2008.

I'd see a fifth movie as long as Harrison Ford is in. Fate of Atlantis is a great story and I'd like to see it made on a big-screen!

I picked the DVD up yesterday as well, and we watched it last night.
It maybe is not the best one of the series, but I enjoyed it.

Life is a constant series of adaptations. and I am adapting as fast as I can!

New Indiana Jones, is part I liked very much. Has the same advantage as the previous parts, whan you are Watching the 2 3 4 time, you discover more items that can not take attention before.. This is one of the main advantages of the series, made it will never bored. I did not like the end of the film, departing spaceship, but Indiana always had such a strange end sequence. Overall movie sticks to the level of its predecessors. I give him a high 5.
