Season 1 had sum of the greatest episodes ever in TNG, specially "Datalore" and "Conspiracy", butt also "The Skin of Evil" and "The Neutral Zone". Tashie deserved to live longer though. ^^ I give it a well earned 8 of 10. :)

I too vote for 8.Great season, because have strong episode with action and drama, some "Encounter at farpoint","Naked now","Code of honor" and many other.Maybe me like this season, because this season create Gene Roddenberry.Watch first season feel atmosphere original series and first movie "The motion picture". Sorry, what in this season die Tashie, but in total first season interesting and dinamic.

Not the best, too much Roddenberry nicey nicey influence for my taste. Too much high profile Wesley Crusher the most irritating character ever to be introduced into Trek. Too many wonderful feelings flowing through a rather insipid Troi and Tasha Yar. But it had to establish itself and once it had created its own mythology to feed off the sky was the limit.
