We are proud to announce that the great and wonderful Nichelle Nichols will be our very special guest for Slice of SciFi Show #154 this Saturday, March 29 and again on our XM Satellite Radio show on Monday, March 31, 2008. Joining Nichelle will be “Lady Magdalene’s” director/writer J. Neil Schulman. Nichelle will be starring as the movie’s lead, in this action comedy about an IRS agent named Jack Goldwater who is on loan to the Federal Air Marshal Service. He is relieved of field duty after insulting a powerful U.S. Senator, and finds himself exiled to a humiliating desk job in Nevada as the federal receiver managing a legal brothel in tax default, where — with the help of the brothel Madam, Lady Magdalene (Nichelle Nichols) — he uncovers an Al Qaeda plot to unload a nuclear-bomb-sized crate at Hoover Dam. Nichelle has been beloved for 42 years as Starfleet communications officer Uhura of the bridge crew on the Starship Enterprise. This grand lady has had such a multi-faceted entertainment career as a singer, dancer, novelist, actress and producer. She can currently be seen in the 3-part online miniseries “Star Trek: Of Gods and Men,” with fellow original series Trek alum Walter Koenig and Lawrence Montaigne; has starred in seven episodes of the landmark NBC television phenomenon called “Heroes,” with more episodes coming, and has just completed production on the dramatic musical “This Bitter Earth,” due out in 2009. “Lady Magdalene’s” can be seen at the Backlot Film Festival on April 3, 2008.

In the News for the rest of the show is a report that “Battlestar Galactica” executive producer and ex-Star Trek showrunner Ronald Moore comments on the new J.J. Abrams Star Trek film. Electronic Arts and Starz Media have joined forces to create a animated prequel film to launch its sci-fi horror vidgame “Dead Space.” And, we have a shortlist of this year’s most prominent Hugo Award nominees.

Movie News has George Lucas playing down fan’s high expectations for the new Indy flick, remembering the beating he took over that other Lucas franchise that returned after a long absence. One of TV’s “Supernatural” stars is next in line to star in the remake of “Friday the 13th.”

TV Talk has David Eick giving fans the final word on the fate of NBC’s “Bionic Woman,” and he also shares some news about a new series he is developing for television that will be based on a popular book by P.D. James that was also made into a major motion picture.

In the Future James Gandolfini moves from his Bada Bing office in Jersey to the mayor’s office across the harbor in New York City for the remake of “The Taking of Pelham 123″ also starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta.

Finally, Olyphant, Jovovich, Zahn and Sanchez square off in the high intensity thriller “A Perfect Getaway.”

The lovely and multi-talented Nichelle Nichols, director J. Neil Schulman, special segments, lots of news and entertainment and contest announcements all wrapped up in a pretty bow for you this week on Slice of SciFi Show #154, Saturday, March 29, 2008 online and from your favorite podcatcher, and again on Monday, March 31, 2008 during your morning rush hour drive to work on XM-Satellite Radio’s Sonic Theater. Hailing frequencies will be open then.
