Comic Book?

IDW is currently producing Star Trek comic books, but they seem to be only taking place in the TOS and TNG era. It would be cool if we could see the adventures of the NX-01 continued in comic book form. I know it's a long shot, but sending an e-mail to letters@idwpublishing.com couldn't hurt.

Today is a very important day. - T'Pol, "Twilight"
It took 12 years, but Archer was finally cured and Earth saved because Dr. Phlox never gave up. Today could be our important day to save Star Trek: Enterprise, we don't know. But like Dr. Phlox, we can never give up.

we could do a request run of emails from fans asking for them to look into the feasibility of doing some Enterprise comics, not sure how that sounds to people but just keeping in the spirit of throwing around ideas because a Comic Book just sounds cool if nicely done of course.

I'm a regular comics reader and I've buy the IDW Star Trek comics as they come out and have all of them up to current. I can tell you the comics are getting better as they go and I can try to point you toward the better issues that have come out so far. (disclaimer: I have no connection to IDW but I am trying to break into the comics industy professionally)
TNG: The Space Between. Don't judge the whole series on the first issue which tried to cram to much story into 22 pages and ended up rushed. Issues 2-5 are much better and #2 features a cameo by an NX-01 shuttle pod.
Klingons: Blood will Tell. TOS from the Klingons point of View. So far the overall best Trek series by IDW (and Klingons are not my favorite Trek aliens). Issue #2 has a fasinating look at how Mr Darvin became a spy in "Trouble with Tribbles."
TOS: Year Four: Unfortunatly I have to admit Issues 1 and 2 aren't very good and 3 isn't much better. But #4 is great, in story and art. Great scene with Spock playing music with glasses of water.
Alien Spotlight: Only the first issue has come out so far but it is good. Same creative team as "Blood will Tell." Captain Terrell (from ST:II) and Chekov crash on a Gorn training planet. This series has a lot of potential. Each issue 'spotlights' a different alien species; Gorn, Vulcans, Andorians, Orions, Romulans (I can't wait for that one), and Borg. Each issue by a different creative team.
As for IDW replying, most comic companies have a policy of not responding to letters, physical or e-mail. They promise to read every letter but they will not reply. I'm sure someone has an exception but it's rare when it happens. The point: A letter campain might help but don't expect a reply to your letter.

I have the first one. I don't know how they're distributed internationally, but in the states TokyoPop released "Shinsei Shinsei" (don't ask me what that means) first. I met one of the writers, Joshua Ortega, at a comic convention. Not only does he have the best story in the collection but he's also a really nice guy.
I have to warn you if you aren't familer with Japanese style comics that the Star Trek Manga takes some, how shall we say, liberalities, with the Star Trek universe. For example: one story has Gundam style robots attacking the Enterprise. If you read the ST manga you have to keep somewhat of an open mind. It is a good way to introduce manga fans to Star Trek and Star Trek fans to manga. I've checked out manga from the liberary before but the only manga I've actually purchased so far is the Star Trek Manga.

Here is the reply I just got back:
Hi Robert! Thanks for your ideas. Yeah, I too would love to have an Enterprise comic book. Right now, the company has decided to focus only on TOS and TNG, but if those continue to do well, we'll probably start looking into Enterprise, and DS9/Voyager as well. All still only possibilities right now, but we'll see how it goes.
