Hi all - I've an announcment:

26 July 2007

The "Bring Star Trek Back To Australian TV" Campaign LAUNCH.

4 years ago, one man had a dream. A dream to bring science fiction back to Australian prime time free-to-air television. Since then the dream became an idea and then only hope. Now, after several months of contemplation that man is back to try again.

First, the background. The show is premiering on community television - designated Channel 31 - across Australia - similiar to PBS in the US - these stations are small and run on a not-for-profit basis, this means that anything coming into the station needs to be offset, because they do not have production budgets like the commercial networks. This is the perfect place for the ALL NEW SciFi Sector, because it is all about for the fans by the fans.

In addition Channel 31 can offer something the networks won't - a prime time slot. It's certainly a big task going up against the strong lineups of the other networks, but we believe there are people out there dying to see sci fi back.

We here at SPNproductions can do this, however we need the production budget to bring in the big guns - Star Trek, Babylon 5, Time Trax, Star Wars etc. - which is where you come in.

We are looking for a budget of $30, 000 to produce the best show you've seen. We'll open up our edit suite for you to have your say on what should happen, you'll also be able to tell us what to go for on the series - if you dont want a segment, or you want a series. The episodes will stream from our website weekly.

We know there is a hunger for scifi - not just in Australia - and we believe we can do this. Let's work together as only scifi fans can...

COMING SOON - the details on how to donate.
