Which is your favorite romantic relationship story arc between main/recurring characters? This can be unrequited love, great but short-lived passion, unconsummated reciprocal attraction, marriages, etc. (since everyone here is an Enterprise fan, and not necessarily a fan of other Trek series, something tells me Trip/T'Pol is going to come out ahead on this one...) :D

I have listed the main ones I could think of but I'm sure there are more. Discuss your favorite if it's not on the list!

PS - post your reasons why you chose what you chose!

I'm more a 'marriage of equals' kind of guy, so I picked Worf-Jadzia. Although quite beautiful, T'Pol always seemed quite inept socially wheras Jadzia could go toe to toe with Worf, Bashir, or anyone else. That and it was amusing to see Worf intimidated. :D

Hmm...I forgot that there were so many
Honestly I'm undecided. Plus, the Trip/T'Pol thing wasn't that long, unlike some of the other relationships above. Hard to decide.

*looks at list*
*thinks about how many of those couples ended up with someone dying, or otherwise screwed up*

Ya know...Trek writers don't like relationships, do they?

Yeah well I guess the way you could look at that is good storytelling involves drama and conflict, and if everyone lives happily ever after then that ain't a good story! LOL

I chose Picard and Crusher mainly because, for some reason, I think it had the biggest impact on me out of all the other relationships. They drew it out from the very first episode to the end. And I have to admit I was pretty ticked when Picard finally said, let's try to make a go of it, and Crusher turned him down. Even if that *was* the best thing for both of them. It's still nice to think that feelings can overcome the other details of life once in a while.

Riker and Troi for me because it was so underplayed and so completely credible unlike the Trip / T'Pol idiocy. I didn't watch much DS9 but from what I saw of Worf and Jadzia this also had some believable roots to it in terms of their characters and history.

 I would've thought the gigolo of TNG would be Riker, granted he did have a more long-term thing but he also had more flings with aliens and the like.

I couldn't vote for any of the choices because I found that ever pairing that they ever came up with was implausable and horrifyingly stilted.

Spock and Chapel! I just finished watching "A Naked Time" for the first time in many years; I'd forgotten completely that Chapel had confessed her love for Spock so early on.

For those interested, I posted my report on "Where No Man Has Gone Before" in my Trek blog:

I voted other - Dukat & Weyoun :P

Honestly, so many good ones, but I went with Riker & Troi cause they finally got married in Nemesis after all these years of off and on stuff.

I don't think Kirk had the perceptive ability to tell the difference when it came to his female companions. Save for Uhura because he had to work with her every day.

I agree, Riker/Troi, Worf/Jadzia, and in addition to those, Paris/Torres. The one set got married, Worf/Jadzia was just sad, and Paris/Torres also got married and had a kid.
