I just wanted to let everyone know that another Northern California rally is being planned for May 7th in Sacramento. May 7th is going to be a big day. There is a convention, the All-Ohio Rally, The Canada/U.S. border rally, and possibly the Kings Dominion rally in VA. I think California is large enough that we can have a Nor-Cal rally and a So-Cal rally on the same day. Maybe some of you in Corona can get the ball moving. I learned one thing while planning the Great America Rally. If you build it (i.e. get everything together) they will come. We had over twenty people up here! Think of what you could do down there!

Is there anyone interested in a southern California rally or meeting with our UPN affiliate? I know Sacramento is planning something there but would like to know if there's enough interest in doing something here.

Starchaser, There is a Worldwide rally scheduled for May 26th at all UPN stations and/or thier affiliates. Based on the experience I've had up in the north here I suggest that you take the lead and begin organizing yourself and work for the "snowball effect". Also, there are a number of IFT "Starships" in SoCal:

Costa Mesa : USS Athena
El Cajon : USS Imzadi
San Bernadino : USS Nathan Hale
Upland :USS Star Phoenix
Beaumont :USS Ulysses

The central website is www.IFTCommand.com

You can look to them for recruits, don't be put off by individual turndowns,
be relentless.

::: "The Good The Bad And The Ugly" theme plays in the background as tumble weed rolls across the forum :::

I think California is deserted! Is there anyone else out there, or am I all alone? I think we should all get talking again, get to know eachother, and maybe figure out if there are any large Trek events happening in our state within the next few months. What do you guys think?

I think it would be great to get more people talking in here. Unfortunately, I think there's only about 5 people that have posted in here in total. With only 5 people in California you wouldn't think we'd have such bad traffic, would you?

Sorry it took me so long to see this thread... I'm a little intimidated by the sheer size and volume of this whole TrekUnited thing!!!  :worthy:

I attended (and wrote an article in HFO and "taped it" too) the Save Enterprise L.A. Rally in Feb., the Finale Party (wrote an article on that for HFO and taped/shot pics at that too) in May 13th, and the Aug. CreationCon convention in Las Vegas (my FIRST convention - where I taped and took pics THERE too), and have been a Star Trek fan since first seeing the "original pilot" The Cage (here in the So. Cal area only) in early 1966, when I was 10 yrs old... and I've been watching ever since!!!

I live in Fullerton (near Cal State Fullerton) in "the REAL O.C." near L.A.!!! :naughty3dg:

What happened to all the Californians and other south-westerners, here?
