Kirk: I take it the odds are against us and the situation is grim.
Picard: You could say that.
Kirk: You know, if Spock were here, he'd say that I was an irrational, illogical human being by taking on a mission like that. Sounds like fun!

Finally I had some time to watch the 2nd act.
Exeter is become better and better !
The quality of this episode is far ahead of their first episode (no offense).
I really get the feeling watching something made in the 60ties. Like
Captain Kirk is about to appear in it at any moment.

Agreed. THIS production is absolutely INCREDIBLE: the amount of time and effort that it took to make this episode "The Tressaurian Intersection" look so S.T.--Desilu Studio--authentic is, as the Vulcans might say, simply astonishing. That battle with the drive-section of the USS Kongo vs. the Tressaurians, and the USS Exeter keeping things in balance for the Federation is just GREAT STUFF to watch, over and over again. And the THOLIANS..... The "New Assembly" --??? Uh, oh!
It helps that the studio in Austin TX producing this is, apparently, a special effects-heavy house-of-studio-production-dreams. BTW, doesn't their website say that Act III is scheduled to be released in June 2006? Well, it came come soon enough! BRAVO, cast/crew of "Starship Exeter." Once again, thanks to them, we've boldly gone where no man has gone before.......
~~~ Regarding the woman EVE, in TOS episode "Mudd's Women" ~~~
KIRK: "There's only one kind of woman--"
HARRY MUDD: "--or man, for that matter--"
KIRK: "--You either believe in yourself, or you don't."
(Truer Star Trek words were never spoken.)
"Good words. That's where ideas begin." --David Marcus, in ST2:TWOK)
A quote spoken by Tom Hanks, portraying the Train conductor, near the end of the film The Polar Express, describes the secret to a fulfilled life in a nutshell: "One thing about trains: it doesn't really matter where they're going; what matters is deciding to get on." (Now, if more people lived by that adage, Gene Roddenberry's vision might come about a lot faster! -- RC)
I reckon Exeter will challenge New Voyages for fans satisfaction out of the fan productions that use the Original series.
However......Excalibur and Farragut haven't made episodes so can't make a complete conclusion, Farragut does have a trailer and it looks good while as we know Excalibur is building up their sets to many peoples interest
Any idea if Exeter is still going?
The site has been quiet for a looooong time now and I hven't received any response when mailing them.....
Would be a shame as the first three parts have been of a really high quality.
Starship Exeter's Act 3 of "The Tressaurian Intersection" is almost ready for unveiling, according to their own website. (It's free to join, just like TU.) The board over there is VERY active, and they're working overtime to get Act 3 out for everyone to see. For EVERYONE here on TU that hasn't seen "STARSHIP EXETER," this incredibly well-done fan production, from Austin, TX, shows the adventures of one of the sister ships to Enterprise NCC-1701: the USS Exeter NCC-1706 -- with a new crew after the events depicted in TOS episode "The Omega Glory." And I for one will state that their current production, "The Tressaurian Intersection," looks like "a lost episode" from Desily in the 1960s -- and that ain't easy to do!
Just go to http://www.exeterstudio.com> and you'll find out all you want to know. This one is a true keeper! (The LINK to their discussion threads is at the bottom of the LINKS near the top of that website, in the left-hand column.)
