Howdy and welcome! :)

Hi, erm, I'm nwalien's daughter... (just don't want you to get confused)... and well, I'm not really a star trek fan, but my dad is BIG TIME... you've most likely seen him mingle around the forums  Well anywayz, whenever you talk to him, there will ALWAYZ be SOME mention of star trek. And when Paramount and UPN decided to cancel enterprise, he was going around moping about it. Now I didn't seem to care THAT much, but I DO understand where he's comin' from. I am a HUGE fan of Harry Potter, and if they decided to cancel HP, then I would throw a fit... but I DO think that the "reasons", if that's a valid term to use, for canceling Star Trek are ridiculous. They still let other shows like, America's Next Top Model, show. And, no offense if you like the show, but it has no meaning to it like Star Trek does. By running it, they want to dumb people down even more to the point where they want us to think that some person is gonna come knock on your door saying that he saw you on the street and followed you home, and now he wants you to be the next "Top Model" I mean, honestly, like THAT'S ever gonna happen... but my dad showed me a video clip of the dude that made trekunited.com and all, and one thing that I distinctly remember him saying, was that a lot of people's career choices was influenced by Star Trek. Now, some people actually WORK at being a model, but all it really takes is the looks... you could be as dumb as a rock, and have the "looks" that they're looking for, and become rich and famous, whereas to become an astronaut, for example, you actually need a brain(with more than one brain cell)... Of course, there are the fitness training and the health tests that you need to go through, but you don't need to be as skinny as a twig. And besides, the people that work in the space industry compared to the number of models in the world, the space worker peoplez outnumber them by a gazillion... So, as you can see, Star Trek gives more reasonable ideas for a career than "America's Next Top Model" does. So therefore, I rest my case...
