I've been to the potemkin site a while back and it has been my inspiration... :)

I've got to agree that the Potemkin website is a gold mine for anyone wanting to know about the details of how to organise and film a live-action fan film. I think if there is one I would take away from it should be an appreciation of the number of skills required to do the job properly. Writing, cinematography, sound and video editing, lighting, prop-making... I've seen some good films that didn't have all of these covered, but the ideal to aim for is to get the best person for each specialised job.

You're doing the right thing by Looking For Group. Check out Barb Reader's website, Star Trek Reviewed, I'm pretty sure she has a location tracker that shows where groups are located. For actors talk to your local amateur theatrical company, for local fans try a fan club like The Federation. Don't overlook the possibility of you helping out someone else's filming (maybe not necessarily in Star trek) in exchange for them helping you.

Good luck and keep posting - we're here to help.

The Librarian Returns...

My Website has over 150 pages. The Fan Film Production Map is here: http://startrekrevie.../2009/06/4.html

And you can then scout around using the partial Table of Content on the left or the far clearer Table of Contents here: http://startrekrevie.../2009/06/2.html

Let me also encourage you to look at this thread at the Trek BBS: http://trekbbs.com/s...ad.php?t=133417

Finally, when you are at a stage that you have released a film... do make sure you let me know!

I find myself going back and forth seeing if I have posted in one place or another.

Anyway, I have changed the post and now we can continue.

I'm creating an MSD display and would appreciate any criticism once I load the pictures.

I currently post to half a dozen sites about Potemkin. Do I lose track of what I've posted? Probably, but each of the site has its own fans, and you've got to get the word out about projects such as fan films.

ATTENTION:

I am putting together a skype task force for ST:EH. For all who would like to be a part of development and have skills in such areas as; 3D starship design in programs such as Max, knowledge of music software (for theme), etc.
If you would like to be a part of Expanding Horizon then we will work something out as far as meeting times. :)

I would just like a few clarifications.

1) This is a film or set of films.
2) Since you want help, might you tell me what city you live in in Maine? It's a pretty big state.
3) Would you like my to include a message on my website asking for help with your film? You call it a "fan series" which could be a series of novels, audio shows, films. But you posted this in the film forum.
