Actually, my fav is Season 4 Archer and/or Season 5-6 Sisko, but I can't vote for individual seasons, and Picard did the best all-around job.

I voted for Janeway 'cause she's a GIRL!!

I only know her and Archer 'best'. Everyone, for the most part, says that Janeway did a good job all-around. Archer has, it seems, a number of personalities. There's Cpt Archer (everyday cool captain), SuperArcher (when he's channeling Kirk), VulcanArcher (I know better than you T'Pol), ect. He seems ok, but a lot of people don't like him. Dunno.

Captain Picard, hands down.

My favorite would have to be Kirk, but the others were still good captains.

A very close choice choice between Picard and Kirk.

Kirk is the sentimental favorite, I remember the first episode I ever saw of the original series in first-run, "City on the Edge of Forever".
An absolute masterpiece of science fiction.

However, sentiments aside, I must nominate Picard.
The consumate professional Starfleet Captain.

However, I do like the comeraderie between Spock, McCoy, and Kirk better than the other casts.

From what I've been told of Kirk, he was a man's man. Total player. That's cool unless you start an intersteller incident or something.

Is TOS running anywhere on tv? I'd kinda like to check it out.

well maby this new series people are talking about, the I have balls to break rules series... Not any others, will have a captain just as roudy and hilarious as kirk. (say it was a chick!!!) Actually, it would be nice to have a roudy female captain. She'd make a good diplomate, and could get into a nice catfight every once in a while. Someone younger women from today can relate to. And a captain some of us guys would want to look at.

Sci-Fi plays it sometimes, and always at seeming random and ungodly hours. You'd be better of renting it from netflix or just outright buying the box sets.

Yeah  anyway I agree with you Archer Rules! Scott Bakula is great in that role. He is respectful to the crew but he won't let a Vulcan undermine his authority.
